Operating Principle
The ceramic lined wear-resistant pipes are fundamentally different from traditional steel pipes, wear-resistant alloy cast steel pipes, cast stone pipes, as well as steel-plastic and steel-rubber pipes. The outer layer of the ceramic lined wear-resistant steel pipe is steel pipe, and the inner layer is corundum. The Vickers hardness of the corundum layer is as high as 100-1500 (Rockwell hardness is 90-98), equivalent to tungsten cobalt hard gold. Its wear resistance is over 20 times higher than that of carbon steel pipes, and its performance is much superior to that of the corundum grinding wheels usually bonded together. Corundum grinding wheels remain the main grinding wheels for grinding quenched steel on various grinding machines. The corundum layer in ceramic steel pipes can wear away the corundum grinding wheel. The wear resistance of ceramic steel pipes mainly relies on the inner layer of corundum several millimeters thick, which has a Mohs hardness of 9, second only to diamond and silicon carbide. Among all oxides, its hardness is the highest. The ceramic-lined wear-resistant steel pipe is manufactured by the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis - centrifugal method. The melting point of corundum in the ceramic steel pipe is 2045℃. Due to the special structure of the corundum layer and the steel layer, the stress field is also special. At room temperature, the ceramic layer is subjected to compressive stress while the steel layer is subjected to tensile stress. The two are in opposition but unified, forming a balanced whole. Only when the temperature rises above 400℃, due to the different coefficients of thermal expansion of the two, the new stress field generated by thermal expansion and the original stress field existing in the ceramic steel pipe cancel each other out, putting the ceramic layer and the steel layer in a free equilibrium state. When the temperature rises to 900℃, the ceramic-lined wear-resistant steel pipe is placed in cold water and soaked repeatedly for many times. The composite layer does not crack or collapse, demonstrating an unparalleled thermal shock resistance performance compared to ordinary ceramics. This performance is of great use in engineering construction. As its outer layer is made of steel and the inner layer does not crack even when heated, it can be welded to flanges, purging ports, explosion-proof doors, etc. during construction, and can also be connected by direct welding. This is superior to wear-resistant cast stone pipes, wear-resistant cast steel pipes, rare earth wear-resistant steel pipes, bimetallic composite pipes, steel-plastic pipes and steel-rubber pipes, which are not easy to weld or cannot be welded during construction.
Process Features
1. The alumina ceramic tiles lined wear-resistant pipe : The aluminothermic - centrifugal method is adopted to organically combine ceramics and metals. The aluminothermic - centrifugal method is used to prepare the ceramic-lined steel pipe. The high temperature generated by the heat released by the reaction itself melts the reaction products and separates them under the action of centrifugal force, forming the steel pipe lined with alumina ceramics. 2. Self-propagating composite pipe: Mix ceramic powder, iron oxide powder and magnesium oxide powder in proportion (the main component is iron oxide, black), seal both ends of the pipe, add the powder, rotate the pipe, electronically ignite it, and sinter it onto the inner wall of the pipe by centrifugal method. 3. Integral calcined ceramic pipes: According to the mold, ceramic powder is sintered into ceramic pipes and then combined with steel pipes. The outer wall of the ceramic pipe and the inner wall of the steel pipe are assembled by pouring special fillers (cement or epoxy resin) inside the steel pipe, and then formed by isostatic pressing.
Performance Features
1. Good wear resistance: Due to the inner lining layer of the ceramic lined wear-resistant composite pipe being corundum ceramic (a-AL2O3), its Mohs hardness can reach 9.0, equivalent to over HRC90. Therefore, it has high wear resistance for grinding media conveyed in industries such as metallurgy, power, mining, and coal. Industrial operation has confirmed that its wear-resistant life is ten times or even dozens of times that of quenched steel. 2. Corrosion resistance and anti-scaling: As the ceramic layer of this steel is (A-al2o3), it has a neutral property. Therefore, it is resistant to acid, alkali and seawater corrosion, and at the same time has the characteristics of anti-scaling. 3. Low operating resistance: SHS ceramic composite pipes have a smooth inner surface that never rusts and do not have convex spiral lines on the inner surface like seamless steel pipes. After tests by relevant testing units on the inner surface roughness and water resistance characteristics, it was found that the inner surface smoothness is superior to that of any metal pipe, and the water resistance coefficient is 0.0193, slightly lower than that of seamless pipes. Therefore, this pipe features low operating resistance and other characteristics, which can reduce operating costs. 4. Good heat resistance and thermal impact resistance: As this corundum ceramic (A-al2o3) has a single stable crystalline structure. Therefore, the composite pipe can operate normally for a long time within the temperature range of -50 to 700℃. The linear expansion coefficient of the material is 6-8×10-6/0C, which is approximately half that of steel pipes. The material has good thermal stability. 5. Low project cost: Ceramic composite pipes are light in weight and reasonably priced. It is 50% lighter than cast stone pipes of the same inner diameter. It is 20-30% lighter than wear-resistant alloy pipes, and has good wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Due to its long service life, the costs of supports and hangers, transportation, installation and operation are reduced. After comparing the project budget and the actual project of relevant design institutes and construction units, the project cost of this pipe is comparable to that of cast stone. Compared with wear-resistant alloy pipes, the project cost has decreased by about 20%. 6. Convenient installation and construction: Due to the light weight of this pipe

Applications of The Ceramic Lined Wear-resistant Pipe
Due to its wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant properties, the ceramic lined wear-resistant pipe can be widely used in industries such as power, metallurgy, mining, coal and chemical engineering for transporting abrasive granular materials like sand, stone, coal powder, ash and molten aluminum, as well as corrosive media. It is an ideal wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant pipe. 1. Applications in the metallurgical and power industries: The metallurgical and power industries consume a large amount of metal pipes every year for transporting coal powder, ash, slurry, lime gypsum slurry, etc. The use of ceramic composite pipes to replace other pipes features high wear resistance, long service life, easy installation and significant economic benefits. After industrial operation in power plants such as Changrun Thermal Power Plant in Liaocheng, Shandong Province, Zhonghua Power Plant in Liaocheng, Beijing Beixin Building Materials Group, Hebi Power Plant in Henan Province, Pingliang Power Plant in Gansu Province, Taiyuan Coal Preparation Plant, Shimen Power Plant in Hunan Province, Gequan Coal Preparation Plant and Xingtai Coal Preparation Plant of Hebei Jinniu Energy Co., LTD., its service life is several times or even dozens of times longer than that of steel pipes. 2. Applications in the mining and coal industries (1) Mining: The transportation of mine filling, concentrate powder and tailings causes severe wear on pipelines. The service life of the previously used mineral powder conveying pipelines, such as those in Panzhihua and Daye mines, was less than one year. By switching to this type of pipe, the service life can be increased by about five times. (2) Coal: Wet transportation is commonly used in coal preparation and long-distance pipeline coal transportation. The conveying pipes are required to be both wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. This type of pipe can be used as a long-lasting conveying pipe, with considerable economic benefits. 3. Others (1) This pipe does not contaminate or adhere to molten aluminum. It is an ideal material for manufacturing aluminum melting equipment, aluminum liquid conveying pipes and liquid lifting pipes that are sensitive to iron pollution and require heavy labor for cleaning and maintenance after use. (2) This pipe has excellent wear resistance and heat corrosion resistance. It is suitable for conveying corrosive materials containing solid particles, high-temperature corrosive gases, sulfur-containing geothermal water and other corrosive media.
